Life seems to have a knack for throwing us curveballs.  Given the psychological and emotional demands of living in today’s society, it is not uncommon for people to reach a point where they find their mental health being challenged across numerous fronts.  For some, these challenges may emerge as an uncertainty and hopelessness about what the future may hold, their personal direction in life, and their own sense of value and self-worth.  This can result in a regular stream of negative thoughts and self-talk, and difficulty engaging in previously enjoyed life activities.  For others, these challenges may emerge as a constant sense of stress, worry, and anxiety about a number of life’s demands and uncertainties, including family, relationships, work, study, and much more.  Such stress and anxiety can take a tremendous toll on a person’s ability to enjoy life, work towards their personal goals, and connect meaningfully with the people around them.

As a Provisionally Registered Psychologist, I am passionate about working alongside and supporting you as we begin to take steps to work through these challenges, and to move towards a greater sense of mental health and personal wellbeing.  I believe in building a warm, genuine therapeutic relationship, where you can experience a safe space of trust and empathy.  We’ll also work together to collaboratively set specific, achievable goals that provide clarity and direction to the therapy.  In doing so, we’ll begin to unpack each of the challenges you’re facing as you feel ready, shedding light on them while tailoring evidence-based strategies to begin to work through them.  In all of this, my hope is that you will come to feel heard and understood, and equipped with the tools you need to move towards healthier modes of thinking, feeling, behaving, and ultimately living.

In working with you, I’ll be drawing on principles from therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Schema Therapy.  I thoroughly enjoy working with people across the life span, including adolescents and adults.
