What We Do
In a nutshell, we help our clients connect to their best selves so they can live their best lives.
That can mean working with someone who is experiencing mental health difficulties as a result of mental illness or a challenging life event or helping a client who is relatively ‘well’, create more meaning in their lives and fulfil their life’s purpose.
The profession of psychology prides itself on the robust research that it undertakes in human experience and behaviour. We often say, if you’re human psychology can help you.
We work WITH our clients. They bring the knowledge and experience they have of themselves and their lives and we bring our formal training and depth of experience of working with clients.
And given that we are after all, human too, we may well offer snippets of our own experience if it might be helpful.
So you’ll find us using cognitive behavioural, trauma-focused, mindfulness, acceptance and commitment therapy, compassion therapy and positive psychology along with deeper models such as schema and attachment therapy as well as psychodynamic and gestalt psychotherapies.
But the crux of it all … well, that’s human connection.
We just want to sit with you, wherever you’re at, and help you get to wherever you want to go. THAT’s what floats our boat.
Provisionally Registered Psychologist
We work closely with Curtin and Edith Cowan Universities to offer Internships (practicums) to Masters and Doctoral students. These students are in their 5th and 6th years of clinical or counselling psychology studies.
Our Interns are registered with AHPRA as Provisionally Registered Psychologists. They cannot provide a service via a MHCP nor do their sessions attract a private health fund rebate.
However, they are able to provide effective counselling services and do so at a low cost of $110 per session.
They also provide additional counselling sessions at NO COST to clients who are identified as needing additional support AND who are engaged in regular therapy with one of our fully qualified and experiences psychologists.
