I understand that it isn’t easy to pull up google and start the search for support but as cliché as it sounds, you’ve started – and that’s half the battle! I am a Provisional Psychologist who is interested in working with adolescent and adult clients. You may be experiencing difficult or overwhelming emotions (like anxiousness or hopelessness), be adjusting to life changes, having trouble breaking old patterns, or simply need a space to talk and feel heard. In addition, I have worked with clients experiencing OCD, specific phobias, and those facing the unique challenges of transitioning from the ADF to civilian life.
I understand that it takes time to develop trust, so I want to explore things at your pace and ensure you are feeling supported. I tend to be flexible within our sessions and will provide you with plenty of space to work on what is most important in that moment.
I use a variety of approaches, including Solution-Focused therapy, CBT, Schema therapy, Exposure-Response Prevention, and DBT. If these terms are new to you then please don’t stress, we discuss this as we go! I value being able to have a laugh and be authentic in session and I encourage my clients to do the same (my particular brand of humor is an intriguing mix of sarcasm, memes, and terrible puns).
