Disha Raithatha Independent Consultant Registered Psychologist
Hello, I’m Disha, a warm and values-driven registered psychologist with postgraduate training in Clinical Psychology from India. With over ten years of diverse clinical experience, I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families using a compassionate, evidence-based, and deeply person-centred approach.
I also provide comprehensive psychological assessments, including ADHD assessments for adults and for children aged 5 and above. I am passionate about helping people understand themselves more deeply, supporting them to gently shift old patterns, transform unhelpful inner narratives, and reconnect with their strengths. Helping clients move through life’s challenges with clarity, confidence, and self-compassion is at the core of my work.
Clients often describe me as grounded, calm, and genuinely present. I take great care in creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you can speak freely, feel understood, and explore what truly matters to you.

Therapeutic Approaches
My therapeutic style is integrative and flexible, drawing on:
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
- Mindfulness-Based Interventions
- Imagery Rescripting
- Couples & Relationship Counselling
I include Imagery Rescripting particularly when supporting clients with trauma, anxiety, eating concerns, and painful childhood memories. This technique helps individuals revisit distressing images or moments from the past in a safe, guided way, allowing them to change how these experiences are held in the mind and body. Clients often find this approach deeply healing, empowering, and transformative.
Every therapeutic pathway is tailored to your goals, values, culture, and life context.
Cultural Sensitivity & Multilingual Support
Having grown up in India, lived in Kenya, and now practising in Australia, I bring a multicultural lens to my work. I understand the complexities of migration, intergenerational expectations, identity, and belonging across cultures.
Languages I speak:
- Fluent: English, Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi
- Understand: Punjabi, Urdu, and several other Indian languages
- Culturally familiar with: Indian, Kenyan, and broader multicultural communities; familiar with Swahili
This linguistic and cultural awareness helps me support clients in a way that feels inclusive, meaningful, and emotionally safe.
My Approach & Philosophy
I see therapy as a collaborative journey, one grounded in trust, empathy, and honest connection. I walk alongside my clients, helping them build insight, develop resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change.
My work is guided by compassion, cultural sensitivity, and a deep respect for each person’s lived experience. Above all, I honour the courage it takes to seek support and the trust you place in me when sharing your story.
