I work with people aged 16 and over who are having difficulties in their family relationships, and who may also have experienced family or domestic violence. I help individuals who may be struggling with their own feelings, and together we can address the problematic behaviour that often results.
Perhaps you’re feeling depressed and anxious about the state of your relationship, or you’re dissatisfied with your home life and are looking to change it.
Maybe you’re concerned about your own physical or emotional safety, or the safety of someone in your house. Your relationship may feel tense or volatile, and you might feel that you’re “walking on eggshells” around your partner. Perhaps you find yourself making excuses for your partner’s behaviour, or defending them to others. Do you try to convince yourself and others that your relationship really isn’t that bad? Have you had the feeling that you should leave your partner, but just can’t seem to do it?
Are you worried about your own behaviour and want a better relationship with your family members? Perhaps you struggle to get a handle on your emotions and often feel out of control. Maybe anger, frustration and resentment are expressed more often than you’d like, and you feel you need help with your unhelpful behaviour. You love your kids, but perhaps you feel that your behaviour is compromising your relationship with them.
Are your family relationships the source of legal trouble? Have you been through Family Court or been ordered by a court to seek treatment? Are there charges or convictions against you related to family or domestic violence?
